Exhibition KOGGE meets PLAYMOBIL ends after great success next Sunday

The last days for the exhibition "KOGGE meets PLAYMOBIL" are coming up: Until Sunday, October 25, interested visitors have the opportunity to see the show, which the German Maritime Museum (DSM) / Leibniz Institute of Maritime History has realized with the Playmobil collector Oliver Schaffer.
Since the exhibition began on June 26, well over 30,000 people have visited the museum. In the vacation months of July and August, the number of visitors was even around five percent higher than in the previous year, despite the restrictions imposed by Corona.

The special exhibition has been integrated into the current permanent exhibition on the Bremen Cog of 1380. Around the medieval original, PLAYMOBIL display landscapes show the history of the ship from its construction in the Middle Ages to its discovery and conservation, but also the research projects associated with the cog.  With an online ticket offer and a 360-degree web special, the house offers additional contactless incentives for pre-planned visits to the house.

Prof. Dr. Sunhild Kleingärtner, Managing Director of the DSM, is delighted with the stream of visitors at special times: "It is wonderful that the exhibition has aroused such great interest over generations. The focus was not only on the colorful figures, but also on the historical original. We take the success of KOGGE trifft PLAYMOBIL as an incentive to continue to implement innovative exhibition ideas and in this way create new incentives for a visit to the DSM again and again".

The next special exhibition is already imminent. From November 25, the DSM will present the show "Karten Wissen Meer - Globalisierung vom Wasser aus. Further information can be found at www.dsm.museum/kartenwissenmeer.
