About the person
Nils Theinert studied history and political science (BA) at the WWU Münster and the University of Richmond (USA). He then completed a master's degree in Public History at the FU Berlin. After a position at the Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History in Potsdam, he joined the DSM as a PhD student in 2020. His research focuses on the technological, environmental, and cultural history of diving technology in the second half of the 20th century and its role in the transformation of ocean space into militarily, scientifically, and economically useful environments.
